The Long War - October 2017
2017 CBC Searchlight winners The Long War is a Vancouver based Indie Band where singer/song writer Jarrett Lee works together with vocalist/guitarist Chad Gilmour, vocalist/keyboardist Jess Lee, vocalist/drummer Neil Williamson, and bassist Carson Webber to create a dynamic sound that ranges from Folk to Rock. Lee’s inspiration can largely be attributed to the landscapes and environments that have influenced him throughout his life.
Mark Woodyard - September 2017
Mark Woodyard is a multi-talented musician who uses looping machines, his voice and his guitar to create a truly unique and dance-inspiring sound. He’s best known for his wide array of genre-bending covers that showcase his vocal range and eclectic style. Often referred to as a “Human Jukebox”, his knowledge of music spans effortlessly across eras and genres.

Devan Christodoulou - July 2017
Bursting on to the Canadian music scene in the fall of 2014 with the release of a music video for their first single, 'Hey, Allison', Vancouver's Echo Nebraska quickly gained a reputation of combining soul strung acoustic songs with subtle shades of Americana. Within a week of launching the band, CBC Music added the video to their list, 'Best New Music Videos for November 2014'. Their debut EP, Send the Ships has charted well on numerous charts, reaching a high of #3 on CJSF.

The self-taught musician, singer, songwriter, producer and photographer has been honing his craft for years and is now set to release his debut single and record “The Getaway”. Omar has opened up for artists such as De La Soul, Prince, Aloe Blacc, and the Voices In the Park day fest (w/ Stevie Nicks, Bryan Adams) among others. Also being chosen as one of nine artists to sing in Rock Legend's U2's single for "song for someone".

With his debut album, Every Colour, out on Bombay Records, David Morin plays gigs around the world accompanied by a live band. Yet the humble neo-soul singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist still chooses to busk regularly on street corners in his hometown of Vancouver.
After all, that's where this 32-year old, who is of Metis Native American descent, honed his craft and his social mes-sage. This guitar and loop-pedal virtuo-so makes a solo performance sound like an entire band.

You might know Desirée as the warm-hearted artist who won CBC's Searchlight Competition, as well as rocking stages with her ukulele all around the world. Asides from her soulful ukulele numbers, Desirée has had chart topping singles in the current dance music scene. Desirée makes a point of having every song be honest and emotionally charged. She is passionate about healing as a collective, using the power of music to impact listeners. Through this, her music has managed to travel the world over
